Let's start with an evergreen, the classic modern style that perfectly combines two completely opposite furnishing ideas. "Less is more" is its main feature, that is simple lines and minimal style, without ever exceeding. Among the materials to be preferred are wood and marble, perfect above all for the floors and the kitchen, as opposed to modern and lacquered furniture for the rest of the rooms. As for the colors, however, focuses on warm shades: petrol green is the master, perfect to combine with wood.
Mistakes to avoid: do not fill the rooms with too many furnishing objects, they must be bright and spacious.
Among the most popular is the vintage style: its charm is unparalleled. Each object or piece of furniture tells a unique story, but the skill lies in knowing how to perfectly combine contemporary furniture with elements that recall the past. Everything must be chosen with taste, because drawing from different eras, the risk is to find yourself living in an antiques market. So yes to sofas and armchairs with floral textures, sideboards, chandeliers, fabrics and typical objects such as old-fashioned radios, turntables, vinyls or colored hi-tech accessories perfect to give a touch of joy to minimal environments.
Mistakes to avoid: do not choose objects at home, but create continuity and above all listen to your needs. Some pieces are beautiful but not very functional.
If, on the other hand, you love creative recycling, aim for the shabby chic style. Its peculiarity is to use used-looking decorations, but never without having received a nice "refresh" according to one's tastes and can also be applied to a single room in the house.
The main colors are pastel shades and white and natural elements such as flowers are the masters, from the real ones to be placed in the vases to the patterns of fabrics and curtains.
Mistakes to avoid: don't overdo it with white, you risk making everything flat.
