Items Flos
Flos, which means "flower" in Latin, originates from a luminous idea: the concept of creating objects suitable for changing the way people live, not only for Italians.
So, in the early 1960s, a certain Mr. Gavina, along with the small manufacturer Eisenkeil from Merano, sets out – after creating many new pieces of furniture (with Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Afra and Tobia Scarpa, and other design masters) – that it is also time to create new lamps. Thus, the Castiglioni brothers and the Scarpa duo, using the cocoon technique, invented in the USA and experimented with by Eisenkeil, begin to create lamps such as the Taraxacum or the Fantasma.
Many other beautiful and surprising lamps follow these first ones: thus, from its very beginnings, Flos (meaning "flower" in Latin, a name chosen by Pier Giacomo Castiglioni) finds itself reinventing the idea of artificial lighting.
