The concept behind the Assemblage coffee table designed by Alain Gilles can be summed up in one word: combination. The distinctive sculptural appearance of the coffee table is in fact the result of a combination of different shapes and, most of all, of materials that are not usually brought together, whose weight's perception is disrupted here: cork, which is lighter than wood, makes up the base and therefore looks like the heavy element which supports the table. The use of materials tied to nature, such as wood and cork, makes Assemblage an object capable of furnishing both living rooms and bedrooms.
